OLD MARKET Ronda Narcis Putget, s/n 07800, Ciudad de Ibiza

Located below the fortified walls of Dalt Vila is the La Constitució square and its imposing Old Market. The neoclassic building features robust columns, a roof held up by an intricate design of wooden beams and a floor plan in the shape of a Greek temple. This stunning site was originally built at the end of the 19th century to provide cover to the already existing fruit and vegetable market stalls and later refurbished by Ibiza’s town hall in 1987. The surrounding streets were pedestrianised to create the lively Plaza de la Constitucio.
Today the market has been revitalised and boasts new organic and eco-friendly new stalls (such as the one run by Nico) alongside the tranditional fruit and vegetable stalls. Homemade organic cakes, jams and marmalades, protein-packed nuts, natural coconut water, freshly squeezed juices and silk and cotton fabrics with beautiful prints brought from India are are all crammed in this very tiny space. Wine, flowers and other organic products are also sold in the market.
