CONNECT WITH YOUR INNER SELF IN IBIZA One of the best places to disconnect is ‘Ibiza Body Camp’, a holistic centre located in a heaven of peace somewhere in the mountains of Sant Joan

In Ibiza you can disconnect from the parties in order to connect with your inner self. It is not that you just can, you should do it. The island is bigger than it seems and it is full with holistic retreats and places loaded with energy. If you are coming to Ibiza with the aim to reencounter with your purest essence, you should know about these places that are full of peace and tranquillity in this side of the Mediterranean.

Ibiza does not just attract clubbers; it is also the place favoured by yogis, reiki and tai chi lovers and those seeking other disciplines that combine spirituality and physical wellbeing. If you lead a city and stressful life, where time slips between traffic jams and working hard at the office, two or three weeks in a retreat in Ibiza can help to cleanse that wake of toxins you have been dragging since winter. The lastest trend in spiritual health are the island retreats with intensive relaxation therapies, diets and specific treatments, designed to power your spirituality.

One of them is Ibiza Body Camp, a holistic centre located in a heaven of peace somewhere in the mountains of Sant Joan. “Our guests can connect their feelings with nature while they observe in the distance the shores of Mallorca. There is nothing better than welcoming sun rise while meditating from one of the pagodas in our villa,” says Kate Whale, responsible of Ibiza Body Camp with chef Benjamin Whale and trainer Rick Parcell, when we go up to visit them. Benjamin tells us that there is no spiritual therapy that does not start by looking after your stomach with a diet based in organic foods. “In this house we use fresh and organic products to cook healthy recipes that are low in calories. Everybody that comes here goes back to his day to day with a healthier figure and having lost a bit of weight. And, of course, what they have eaten helps them to be more in contact with their inner self.” At the end of the day, that is what’s about, achieving self-realization and happiness.

The word yoga has its origins in Sanskrit and it means to fuse or join. The spectacular nature, the benign climate and the quality of food in Ibiza turn this land into the perfect spot to achieve that union between soul and the person itself. What are you waiting for?
