IBZ PREMIUM GIN If anyone knows a thing or two about drinks in Ibiza is the Mari Mayans family, experts in transforming the aromas and flavours of Ibiza in liquors and distils.

In 2012 they created IBZ, a premium gin that is now being launch internationally making the most of the tipple in trend right now: gin & tonic, although the product has distanced itself from the rest because of its Mediterranean uniqueness. Bartolomé Mari Mayans is proud of their gourmet gin, “which smells of Ibiza, because it keeps in its glass bottle the flavours of thyme and critics that are so characteristic of the island. “The juniper berries are distilled in copper stills with the purest of alcohols made from cereals and a touch of thyme, fresh rosemary leaves and the zest from citrus that are added to obtain a noticeable Mediterranean Ibicenco flavour that is unique to the fragrant plants of Ibiza. Thyme is the core of Frigola, a distil from this aromatic plant that Bartolome recommends to add to the preparation of a good Ibiza gin & tonic, “the secret is to also add a citrus like grapefruit that accentuates its flavours as well as two drops of Frigola, which add a very special aroma and freshness.”
